Kites don’t like kite string, and either do mynahs, pigeons, koels, barn owls, or jungle crows.
Flying kites may be fun; but it’s not responsible to do it Bangalore, where our green canopies are home to beautiful and delicate native birds. These birds get caught in manja (glass-coated kite string) which cuts through their feathers, flesh and bones. Thanks to the Fire Brigade, this injured kite was rescued from a tree and received treatment at CUPA’s sister organization, WRRC.
