ENROLLMENT
To fulfill our objectives, we
are dependent on the largesse of the public
and help from conscientious individuals like
you. You can support us by becoming a life member
of CUPA for Rs. 3000.00
We also have sponsorship programmes
you can take up. For instance, a small regular
sponsorship will mean our ambulance can attend
to more distress calls. Or you can help us as
a volunteer in a way which is suited to your
lifestyle. Whatever you decide to do, please
answer the cries for help from desperate animals.
We list some ways you can assist
CUPA by choosing any one or all of these options......and
thereby the animals that it strives to rescue
and protect......
1. Become a life member of CUPA and help
to enroll other life -members
2. Become foster-parents for an abandoned animal
by paying Rs. 500.00 per month for their upkeep
and visit and spend time with them on week-ends.
( more details in the Sponsorship /Aid link)
3. Opt for passive adoption of an animal where
you will receive updates and progress of your
ward and help to fund the cost of living for
your animal. This can happen from a distance,
if you are not in a position to visit and interact.
CUPA caters to about 200 large, small and infant animals per
day at the KVAFSU-CUPA Animal Shelter and to about 900 street dogs per month at the
CUPA Animal Birth Control Centre, in Koramangala. These animals are looked after with great
care and affection by the CUPA Staff who are specially trained in animal care. But to give
these animals a high and consistent standard of treatment, CUPA also requires support and
assistance in useful items that can make its task easier to look after such a large animal
household.....
Here is a list of items which
are very welcome:
- Old Newspapers - to keep pups
& kittens warm at night
- Old Clothes - To mop up dirt
and clean cages
- Cleaning Equipment like swabbing
clothes, floor mops and brooms
- Soaps, Phenyl and Detergents
- Towels to dry the Shelter
animals after a bath
- Large and small cooking utensils
- Old and discarded soft toys
which make excellent play things for pups
and kittens
- Collars & Chains and Bowls
to feed the animals of all sizes
- Buckets & Mugs
- Plastic Baskets and
Crates for small animals to sleep in.
If you would like to help with hands-on work, it is important
that you visit the Shelter at least once. You can ask for the Volunteer Form at the
reception and spend some time in filling out the necessary details. Once completed, you
will be called for a meeting with the Volunteer Co-ordinator and then delegated specific
responsibilities that should be consistently undertaken, once you have made a committment
of your time and energy for Shelter work.
